After hitting a rock in the lake last summer, we perform cosmetic repair to the Fiberglass Gel Coat on the bottom of the 1996 Starcraft 1750 Bow Rider. We are using the Gel Cote International Scratched Surface Repair Kit With Wax to fix the chipped hull in just over 2 hours. This was a very easy fix, mix 4 drops of hardener in 1 Teaspoon of Gel Coat, apply, cover with included plastic sheet, wait two hours, and then wet sand and polish for final finish.

I purchased the boat with the scrape on the bottom. I fixed it using marine tex. This product is stronger than fiberglass. If you are just fixing gel coat, this is overkill and I wouldn't recommend it. If you have a hole or scrape in the fiberglass, this stuff will be a strong repair.
This is me fixing a Standard Horizon Quest-X GX1500E Marine Band Radio. First thoughts were blown diode and a few blown caps, but it turned out to be more than that... Here is a list of the parts I replaced: Main Board: Q1018 - 2SB1301 Q1019 - NJM7808L1A (8v reg) Q1017 - NJM78M05 (5v reg) D1003 - 1N5402 (protection diode) C1092 - 100uf 25v C1092 - 100uf 25v (10v on schematic ?) C1023 - 2200uf 25v CPU Board: Q2001 - ULA78L05ACPK (5v reg) C2002 - 10uf 25v Service manual I used was for the GX1500S, which as far as I can tell is identical, just programmed differently. Radio is now fully working on RX. There is no transmit, but as this video is already over 30 mins, I decided to end here... I hope to be able to fix that in a future video. This is the official channel of http://www.normsweb...

Troubleshooting and finally fixing a Yanmar 2gm20 marine diesel engine. Removal of Cylinder head, valve lapping, re-assembly and some oil pipe improvisation. I looked for videos of people disassembling the gm's before I attempted this but could not find any. Perhaps this will better inform you what to expect if you are thinking about doing the same. Things learnt - Check mixer elbow every season. Check the oil pipe that runs hidden, behind the engine and before it spews all your oil into the bilge on passage one day! I'd add, I'm an DIY guy, not a professional mechanic. I didn't find this too hard and managed to expand my tool-kit, probably for less than it'd have costed to get the local mechanic to step on-board. If you have the confidence to do the same, I'm sure you'd find it as ...
